For 8 weeks this spring, Centrax went on a journey. We learned about what motivates people, why leadership is influence, how we connect with others, and how to cultivate that leader within us. We listened, asked questions, relayed our own life experiences while relating to others, and we learned — A LOT!

Our roles at Centrax are to be the designers and developers of learning for others, however, we chose to switch roles when we became the learners as we ‘welcomed’ John C. Maxwell to Centrax to instruct us on ‘Developing the Leader Within You’.

The video workshop and workbook were well received and proved to be an informative 8 weeks mixed with humor, personal experiences, and valuable insights. The workshop spoke to the value of believing in self and in others , the idea that if we work at developing others then we personally succeed, and the impact of investing time in people, while offering practical guidelines. One participant was taken with the idea that people are not necessarily born with an innate ability to lead people - aspects can be taught and learned.

While learning happens because insights are gained, discoveries are made, and meaning is found, and just as we hope the learners are motivated from the training we construct, ultimately we too felt a little more empowered as the classes came to a close, than when we began.
