June, 2010 Rose Pilgrim, Instructional Designer, represented Centrax at the Games and Learning Society Conference this month in Madison, Wisconsin. Rose attended the conference and participated in demonstrations of how gaming techniques are being used these days to foster learning and retain knowledge. This year’s conference gave participants opportunities to explore the impact of games and gaming culture on learning and society. Rose attended sessions with featured speakers/writers, James Paul Gee and Kurt Squire, who each are influential in writing texts and articles about games and learning. “I thought it was excellent and informative. It’s great to hear people discuss gaming theory as well as its application,” Rose said of the conference. “There were those of us from the corporate world, along with attendees from academia and professional game designers.” |
